Fund Raising Committee
Chairman – John Green

We raise funds for our charitable giving in many ways. In addition to the occasional social gathering such as barbeques and dances each Rotarian is encouraged to make a small personal contribution to our charities. The recommended amount is the equivalent of 50p per week, though many Rotarians give twice that amount. The Horwich Beer Festival

The 5th Horwich Beer Festival will be held in our new town centre venue, St Mary's Community Hall, Berne Avenue, just off Chorley New Road, Horwich. We open on Thursday September 16th and every day until Sunday September 19th. There are lots of ways in which you can help us, by sponsorship, by helping on the day or simply turning up and sampling the wide selection of draught real ales that will be available. For full details look at the Horwich Beer Festival Website

Christmas Collection

Each December we spend two to three weeks taking our Christmas Float around the locality. We usually commence at 6.30 p.m. and finish around 9.00 p.m. This is a very popular event both for the Rotarians involved and also for the public - particularly those with small children who are enchanted by the visit of "Father Christmas". We also use the float at two local supermarkets on a suitable Friday and Saturday and we are grateful to these establishments for allowing us to do so. The Christmas collection is by far our most important and effective fund raising project each year.
